Agnes was bom c. 1821 dau. of Thomas and Sarah (Janet) HENDERSON possibly at Turriff, Aberdeenshire, Scotland and arrived on ‘Coromandel ’ on 17 Jan 1837 with her parents.

William TUCKEY was baptised at Wymering (Cosham) in Hampshire on 12 Jun 1814, his father’s name was William Smith TUCKEY and his mother Sarah, and they were from Widley, which is between Cosham and Purbrook near Portsmouth.

It is fortunate that there is a newspaper article which gives a great deal of information on William TUCKEY. Thomas TUCKEY, second son of William, was interviewed and the article appeared in the ‘Mail’ on 19 Apr 1924 when Thomas was eighty-one years of age. It mentions that William had received his education on a training ship in Portsmouth and also that during September 1834, the new paddle-steamer ‘Nile’ built for the Pasha of Egypt sailed from London under Colonel William Light,with William Tuckey as on of the crew ...
