"With an introduction containing a history of the origin of the Clan MacQueen, by Hon. A.W. MacLean, and the proceedings of the first Clan MacQueen Meeting, at Maxton, N.C., June 3 to 5, 1913."

The Col. James MacQueen mentioned in the title was "of Queensdale" and was born on the Isle of Skye about 1760. He came to America about 1772, and settled in Moore County, NC. According to the genealogical table at the beginning of the book, he was a direct lineal descendant of King Robert the Bruce, and his mother was the half-sister of Flora MacDonald, the Jacobite heroine.

This work includes much material on the MacQueens in America, and the extensive index is an excellent guide to all the names besides MacQueen which figure prominently in this genealogy. Among those most often encountered are: Alexander, Baker, Black, Blue, Bracy, Bunting, Cunningham, Currie, Dick, George, Ledbetter, MacCallum, MacDonald, MacEachin, MacInnis, MacIntyre, MacKinnon, MacLaurin, MacLean, MacLeod, Moore, Morrison, Newsom, O'Neal, Pittman, Powell, Sinclair, Smith, Wade, and Whitlock.

This CD consists of scans of the original book, which can be browsed, enlarged and printed if required. Please note: it is not searchable.
