Glenlyon is a region in Perthshire, defined by Rannoch to the north and Breadalbane to the south. It includes within it the four districts of Breadalbane, Glenlyon, Glenorchy, and Rannoch. This history brings together information on events and individuals associated with the region from the coming of the Campbells into the 19th century.

It includes stories on Black John of the Spears, the bitter struggle between the Campbells and the MacGregors for supremacy in the region, and extensive information on the Campbell lairds who for so long dominated as the principal landowners. Finally, it discusses the Menzies family who acquired that Campbell influence and supplanted them in the region. Among the families most often cited are: Campbell, MacGregor, Menzies, Currie, MacArthur, Murray, Oliphant, and MacDonald.

This CD consists of scans of the original book, which can be browsed, enlarged and printed if required. Please note: it is not searchable.
