Michael Forbes Tweedie published "The History of the Tweedie, or Tweedy, Family; A Record of Scottish Lowland Life & Character" in 1902.
Containing 270 pages, this Scottish family is the focus of an extended historical and genealogical account covering many centuries and generations of this clan, and extending from Perthshire into the Lowland counties of Scotland, where the family played a major role. There are chapters on the family in medieval times, as well as on the family century by century from 1500 to 1850. The extended course of the River Tweed, Drummelzier Castle, Neidpath Castle, Fruid and Wrae Castles, as well as the other lands owned by the Tweedies, all are brought into the history as it progresses century by century. There is much material on the Border region between England and Scotland, and there are appendices as well on those of the name who settled in Ireland and England, as well as in the various counties of Scotland.
This CD consists of scans of the original book, which can be browsed, enlarged and printed if required. Please note: it is not searchable.
