This is a history of an ancient Scottish baronial family, the Burnetts of Leys, and of the cadet lines of that family. The families which are included are the chiefly line of Burnett of Leys, the Burnetts of Balmain, Craigmyle, Kemnay, Crimond, and the Burnetts of Monboddo. This, then, is a historical and genealogical account by Dr. George Burnett, Lord Lyon, and edited after his death to include additional archival materials. There is no attempt to include descendants outside Great Britain. An extensive set of appendices record official documents, charters, deeds, letters, arms, wills, and muster rolle of this extended family. There are as well numerous illustrations of Crathes and its numerous and unique antiquities.
This CD consists of scans of the original book, which can be browsed, enlarged and printed if required. Please note: it is not searchable.
