Oh, the memories of those times. Growing up in those decades were so free and unencumbered. The book is beautifully presented - the chapters making it easily accessible to find something special. I am taking it to my school reunion (70 years since commencing at our school in 1954) at the end of September - something wonderful to share.

An interesting book. I grew up in a small country town in South Australia during those years. Unfortunately, the content of the book didn't relate to me, as there was much mentioned that I have not heard of nor seen. Queensland is obviously more different than I realised.!

I enjoyed this light-hearted rummage through things that were popular in the 1950s and 1960s when I was growing up. It was even more relevant to me when I noted the author lived in the next suburb to me in Brisbane. Lots of illustrations and descriptions jog the memory about long-forgotten things. There are also a few pages for readers to add some of their own stuff from that era. This book would be a good companion to "The Book of Myself" (a DIY autobiography) by Carl and David Marshall and also available from Gould.
