GRAINGER QUESTIONED BY POLICE - Unconventional Dress In Cold Snap Puzzles U.S. Patrol
PERCY Grainger dresses to please Percy Grainger. His dressing has never caused any trouble until recently in America, when the suspicions of two policemen were aroused, and the celebrated Australian composer- pianist was hauled off to the city gaol. Profuse police apologies followed and Grainger, with the charm which his friends here know so well, accepted them and the incident was closed.
Miss Merle Robertson, nationally known Adelaide pianist, who is a friend of Grainger's, received newspaper cuttings from America this week which told of the incident. The Wausau (Wisconsin) "Daily Record-Herald," of Tuesday, February 21, reported the happening.
Without a hat, with a knapsack on his back, carrying an umbrella, and wearing a light jacket and white duck trousers, Mr. Grainger was spied standing near the Milwaukee road depot by Patrolmen Harry Anklam and Otto Lewitzke on Tuesday morning. The officers shivered when they recalled that the mercury was showing seven degrees below. They approached Grainger. Why don't you wear an overcoat?" asked Officer Anklam, "I don't see what business that is of yours," replied Mr. Grainger. And that was that.

Radio Call 1939 CD
I was disappointed to find that the particular magazines that I wanted were not included in the collection. It would be good if there was a list of missing volumes before purchasing.
