SAMPLE ENTRY (from the 5 January 1935 issue):

Safe-blowing.
(Vide " Police Gazette," 1934, page 462.)
C. I. Branch, Brisbane.-CARL SIMPSON, who is suspected of having attempted to blow open a safe in the shop of JAMES SPROULES, at Gympie, is evidently identical with JAMES GILL, alias Leo Killen, alias Charles Raymond (vide New South Wales Photo. Book, No. 127-169), who received traveller's rations at Brisbane on 7-12-34, and stated that he intended proceeding to Toowoomba.

Gazettes are published by governments and their agencies as a means of communication to officials and the general public. As such they are useful, not only to monitor the actions of the government, but also as far as family historians are concerned, they are valuable primary source documents.

A vast resource, which gives the reader a look at many people and events that took place in Queensland during the year 1935.

High quality scanned images of the whole of the original book, bookmarked for easy navigation. Pages can be searched, browsed, enlarged and printed out if required.
