This edition of Pugh's is along the style of the earlier ones in that it contains a Brisbane Directory as well as a Country Directory. The Brisbane directory lists the occupations alphabetically with names under each, together with their street name, and the Country directory lists the towns together with their stations, and station-owners (so it is not as comprehensive as latter years of these directories).

In addition it also includes over details on over 40 other topics. Everything from Barristers and Banking Establishments, to Cotton Inspectors and Rainfall, the Sheriff's Department and Shipping information is also covered, along with numerous advertisements. This is a invaluable guide for finding more on the social history of Queensland in the 1860s.

A feature of this edition is that includes statistics taken from the 1868 Census, so you can see the numbers of females and males in Queensland at this time, as well as those who were a widow or widower. There are statistics on occupations, nationality, religion, ages and more.
