This CD is an index listing some 95,000 people arriving in Australia between 1788 through to 1828. These include soldiers, settlers, convicts, visitors and sailors.
Divided into three sections, the first section is an alphabetical listing of the ships that arrived in that timeframe, together with details of their arrival date, port of arrival, the number of emigrants/convicts/crew, and reference numbers for the ships lists in book or fiche form.
Part 2 lists the arrivals. The ships are listed alphabetically, with the emigrants alphabetically under each ship.
Part 3 is the Supplement section, which lists people who arrived on a ship, but the vessel is unknown or unnamed on documents. These cover marines, troops, merchant service sailors and royal navy personnel., all listed alphabetically by surname of emigrant.
The files are on the disk are saved as .doc files, so can be read on any PC or Mac computer using Word or a similar program.
