From the Preface

We live in an ever changing society with Marrabel and the surrounding district being no exception. Changes from a thriving community when the Blacksmith employed four men; Mrs Prior who had a staff of three shop assistants; the Bakery whose family of three conducted a thriving business; the local Hotel with four on the staff; the School with two teachers; Wrights Store where a family of three were kept busy; two employed at the Garage; a staff of two at the Post Office and the Butcher who employed three whilst six were fully employed at the Flour Mill making a total of thirty two in all.

The last twelve years have seen the Rodeo Club entrusted to a new generation. A group of young men has emerged with new ideas whilst maintaining many old traditions. Major changes have seen the Rodeo now being sponsored by several Business houses, both local and metropolitan which offer substantial prize money which in turn attracts the best riders.
