This history of the family begins with the Chisholms of Strathglass and proceeds through some 28 generations before turning to the cadet lines. Mackenzie includes the Chisholmes of Kinneries, Knockfin, Muckerach, the Border Chisholms, and the Chisholms of Cromlex.
