This work is aimed at providing trustworthy textbook examples for workshop practice. It seeks to allow and encourage good workmanship and to facilitate artistic activity directed at securing a livelihood. It is not an academic endeavor, but rather a practical guide to the principles of the art of heraldry. Included are chapters with illustrations of the sheild, the crest, badges, supporters, banners of arms, crowns and collars, and embroideries. The examples are in both black and white and color, and are drawn not only from Great Britain, but from throughout Europe.
For those who are working with modern examples of crests and arms, this work will provide an understanding of the heraldic elements included in those crests.
This CD consists of scans of the original book, which can be browsed, enlarged and printed if required. Please note: it is not searchable.
