The full title of this work is "Henderson Chronicles: A Roster of the Descendants of Alexander Henderson of Fordell, County Fife, Scotland, Three of Whose Sons Emigrated to the American Colonies, Prior to 1740, and Settled Near Alexandria, Virginia" and was compiled by John N. McCue, in 1915.
The names comes from Henrys son and can be noted in various forms as Henrison, Hendrickson, and Henderson. This particular line settled at Fordell in Fife in or about the 15th century. They gained increased prominence with the Stewart kings from James III and IV to James V, Queen Mary, and James VI. In the 16th and 17th centuries, the family were much involved in the religious reformation and in matters pertaining to Charles I and to the Covenanters. However, the majority of this work relates to the history and genealogy of the family in America in the 18th and subsequent centuries.
