Written by the Rev. Christopher Eipper, a German missionary and Presbyterian minister who emigrated to Australia in 1838, landing in Sydney. Eipper and some others then sailed to Moreton Bay in 1838, set up a site 7 miles from Eagle Farm, which they named Zion Hill, and so began the German Mission to the Aborigines.
Classes were conducted by Rev. Eipper and Rev. Handt helped the newcomers to acquire the Aboriginal dialect.
The early history of the mission was first recorded by Eipper in this book the full title being 'Statement of the Origin, Condition, and Prospects of the German Mission to the Aborigines at Moreton Bay'.
