This history concentrates primarily upon the immediate family of the poet, Robert Burns, and upon those descended from him into the 19th century. The history of the early Burnes family is not well documented, but there is evidence of a family of Burnes in Kincardine by the reign of King Robert I, and by the early 18th century those of his name were to be found in the district Glenbervie in Kincardineshire. The descent of the poet proceeds from that family, and the history extends into the 19th century with much genealogical and historical information on those of the name.
This CD consists of scans of the original book, which can be browsed, enlarged and printed if required. Please note: it is not searchable.
