Well-researched and Balanced
Most dictionaries of biography I have seen include the usual ‘famous’ people - political leaders, military leaders and maybe a few infamous people on the wrong side of the law. In this wonderful eBook of over 1000 pages and published in 1949, the author includes scientists, actors, artists and writers. Not all were born in Australia but most achieved their worthiness to be included in this collection while living in Australia. It provides good reason to be proud of our forebears and I’ll be delving into this work for years to come.

Something for the history buffs
This is a brilliant book.
SO many references to so many people.
It is very easy to use as a reference guide and you never know who you might find you are related to.
Even if you are not and you want an insight to people of Australian notoriety, you will find this a very interesting book to catch up on your Australian history of people.
Well worth the read.
