This CD contains a complete run of the Cairns Historical Society Bulletins from 1958 to 2007. First published in 1958, the journals have articles on a wide range of topics relating to the Cairns region – articles on pioneering families, local history, mining, roads, railways, and much more.

SAMPLE ENTRY:

Early communications – roads [January 1959]
Early communications in the Cairns area consisted of two tracks over the coastal range to connect Thornborough with the coast at Trinity Inlet in September, 1876. Prior to that time, the only access between the eastern coast and the country behind the line of ranges was a road over the Seaview Range to the south of Cardwell that followed up the Herbert river to the Valley of Lagoons, and the pack track and dray road from Cooktown to Maytown on the Palmer goldfield.

For the first time the journals are fully searchable as a PDF document on CD ROM – published by Archive Digital Books Australasia.

This CD contains high quality scanned images of the original journals, and has been bookmarked for easy navigation. Pages can be searched, browsed, enlarged and printed out if required.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
Any computer using Adobe (Acrobat) Reader 4 or later
Adobe Reader 6 or later is recommended for CDs with searchable text
