The whole series, to coin a modern phrase, is designed to push your buttons and to make you remember and wonder at things forgotten. The compiler also hopes that the the older and younger generations will talk about the past and rediscover a heritage otherwise forgotten. Hopefully, they will spark discussions between generations, and foster the asking and answering of questions that should not remain unanswered.

The Mavis Bramston Show was staged, and ball-point pens were not coming to a school near you. Alphabet soup was filling bowls, and school projects were irritating corporations.
