This CD-ROM contains facsimile copies of two of James Drummond's books "Ancient Scottish Weapons" and "Highland Targets and Shields".

Without question, Drummond's Ancient Scottish Weapons is one of the most important guides to Highland armour, arms and equipment, shields, swords, dirks, powder horns, pistols, muskets, axes, brooches, and other items of dress and Highland dress. Many are pictured in detail, and thus are essential for the military historian, the artisan, or the costumer.

His later, shorter work specifically on targets and shields was published in an edition of only 50 copies. The style of illustration is similar to that of his more famous Weapons.

Scanned images of the whole of the original book, bookmarked for easy navigation. Pages can be searched, browsed, enlarged and printed out if required.
