Rosslyn Castle has been called 'the most picturesque baronial ruin in Scotland', and it has fascinated many for centuries. Long the stronghold of the St Clair Earls of Orkney, its history is inexorably intertwined with that of Scotland itself. And, in recent years, there has been much speculation that Rosslyn may indeed be the final, secret repository of the lost treasure of the Knights Templar. This is a collection of books or articles all of which relate to Rosslyn Castle compiled on to the one product. The items included are:

  1. 'Rosslyn: Its Castle, Chapel and Scenic Lore' by Will Grant
  2. Material on Rosslyn from 'The Castellated and Domestic Architecture of Scotland from the Twelfth to the Eighteenth Century' by David MacGibbon and Thomas Ross
  3. An extended section on Rosslyn from 'The Ruined Castles of Midlothian: Their Position; Their Families; Their Ruins; and Their History' by John Dickson
  4. The chapter on Rosslyn from 'The Castles of the Lothians' by J. Munro Bell
  5. 'Notes on the Library of the Sinclairs of Rosslyn', by H.J. Lawlor. This article first appeared in Proceedings of the Society of Antiquaries of 'Scotland, Third Series, vol. VIII, 1898
  6. 'Rosslyn Castle: The Sinclairs, the Freemasons, and the Building of a Castle', which first appeared in Proceedings of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland, vol. XII, part 2, 1877
  7. A wonderful collection of postcards of Rosslyn and its surroundings from the very early 20th century
