Written in 1897 by Charles Rampini, this large volume of 452 pages is a history of the ancient province of Moray. It begins with a history of the region, including an account of the Picts in Moray, the Celtic Christian church, the Scandinavian influence, and the later partition of the region into modern Moray and Nairn.
It continues with the history of early modern and modern times in the province, and includes within that an account of the Randolph, Moray, Dunbar, Douglas, Stewart, and Gordon families. It then moves on to include the Grant, Duff, Kinnaird, Rose, and Brodie families. The final section provides a detailed account of the towns of the region, the folk culture and economic and social development, and then finally an account of the distinguished men of the region.
This CD consists of scans of the original book, which can be browsed, enlarged and printed if required. Please note: it is not searchable.
