This is a genealogical history of several intermarried families, primarily located in the American southeast. The Bullochs were among the most prominent of those families, claiming descent from William Bulloch, Chamberlain to Edward Balliol; from the Bullo family in Peebles; and at other times from a grandson of John, Lord of the Isles. They long claimed Stirlingshire and later, Glasgow as the centre of their landed and commercial interests. However, they soon were to be found in Georgia and South Carolina, where they married and allied with the Elliot, Allston, Stobo, Dunwoody and Irvine families.
