The set of seven volumes covering the period 1762 to 1811 tell the story of exploration, convicts, the administrators, the military, and others associated with the colony of New South Wales during the early days. The extensive collection of journals, logs, personal and official letters, the despatches, State papers, maps and illustrations provide an interesting insight into all facets of the colony.

Spirituous liquors, having found their way into the colony in considerable quantities, occasion much idleness amongst many of the settlers; but I must confess have nevertheless some advantages. Much work will be done by labourers, artificers, and others for a small reward in this article, and (without any injury to health) which money could not purchase.

This 7 Volume Set of CD’s covering the beginning of our colony would have to be the best value I have ever seen. Not only does it present those records for any particular question you have relating to those times, but they are yours forever to assist you in your research of your Convict or your Free Settler ancestors. From Captain Cook’s Log of his Voyage of Discovery up to the Colonial Secretary’s Papers and more.. An Item I will never regret buying.
